Songs and Cheers

The International songs and cheers, as well the Chapter and Regional songs and cheers, are part of the heart of the B’nai B’rith Girls. The feeling after a successful song session is incredible and powerful. It is even exciting to lose your voice after a convention because you have been screaming these cheers at the top of your lungs! Make sure that the songs, cheers, and traditions of this order never die and SING OUT LOUD AND PROUD!

Shnuggling

Shnuggling is the process by which we do perform,
the general art of necking in order to keep warm
There's shnuggling on the benches, there's shnuggling in the park, And when you're with an AZA there's shnuggling in the dark. Now gather 'round me girlies and listen to my plea Never trust an AZA boy an inch above the knee. (toe!) I know a girl who tried it and dearly had to pay, the son-of-a-gun he left her with a son of an AZA. Now this little AZA boy he did grow up one day, And met a BBG girl in the same old fashioned way. This little BBG girl she did not hear my plea and now they have between them another BBG. That's how we grew, and grew, and grew (and we're still growing!)

Look At Me, I'm A BBG

(to the tune of "Sandra Dee" from Grease)

Look at me, I'm a BBG
Lousy without an NJB, (Nice Jewish Boy)
Wholesome and pink, at least that's what they think,
I'm just a BBG.
Hey you, you're not a Jew, I cannot go out with you,
You're a really nice guy, But you don't wear a chai,
I'm just a BBG.
Hey you, AZA, I was not brought up that way,
Keep yourself in your pants, You can wait till beau dance,
I am just a BBG !!!!!!

Identity

Identity, Identity Who am I? A BBG. I am one, though only one. There's so much I can do

We Pledge To Thee

We pledge to thee, oh BBG
Our love, our youth, our loyalty
We sing to thee with joyous sounds
Our voices reach the sky
From Zion came the white and blue
To give these colors bold and true
Our loyal daughters gather round
to raise our flag on high!
(The N’siah sings the first verse again while we hum the tune, then we sing the second verse again.)

The BBG Heartbeat

[7 hits on the lap, 7 claps]
[3 hits on the lap, 3 claps]
[1 hit on the lap, 1 clap]
scream: B!
[7 hits on the lap, 7 claps]
[3 hits on the lap, 3 claps]
[1 hit on the lap, 1 clap]
scream: B!
[7 hits on the lap, 7 claps]
[3 hits on the lap, 3 claps]
[1 hit on the lap, 1 clap]
scream: G!
[7 hits on the lap, 7 claps]
[3 hits on the lap, 3 claps]
[1 hit on the lap, 1 clap]
scream: BBG!

It's not just the pin and the way you wear it

But the love you receive and the way you share it
It's not just the screams and the cheers
But the memoriess of much laughter and tears
It's not just a feeling you get when someone says “hi”
But the heaviness in your heart when you have to say goodbye
It's not just how many calls and letters you read
But the friend who sent them, which we all need
It's not just an organization, which is a place to me
But so much more, you just wait and see
No, its not just an interesting little pin
But the heart behind, and the body within
