Here are some key words and terms that you should know!




AIT- Aleph in Training
AZA- Aleph Zadik Aleph (the boys of BBYO)

AZAA-AZA Athletics
BBG- B'nai B'rith Girls

BBGG- B'nai B'rith Girls Games
BBYO- B'nai B'rith Youth Organization
CLTC- Chapter Leadership Training Conference (a summer program)
ILSI- International Leadership Seminar in Israel (a summer program)
ILTC- International Leadership Training Conference (a summer program)
Convention- A three day, two night time when our region gets together.

Council- Term used for many chapters in one central area 
Friendship Circle- At the end of a convention, we all stand in a circle. The coordinators of the convention walk around and say some things about the weekend and then the girls and guys split into a spirit session.
Inductions- A formal ceremony for new members to officially become a member of BBG (or of their chapter/region)
Senior Lives- Eligible seniors are given the opportunity to talk at Regionals Convention about their BBYO experience. It is a very emotional and meaningful ritual. Many chapters also have senior lives of their own.
Installations- A ceremony that discharges the old offices of their responsibilities and installs the newly elected board members.
MIT- Member In Training (new BBGs)
KIO- Kentucky Indian and Ohio, the BEST region ever

MBA- Mind, Body, Attitude
ISF- International Service Fund. This fund raises money for International BBYO so that people from other countries can afford to go to BBYO events like International Convention.

States- A formal address given to a chapter or region by the board members at the end of their term. It talks about the "state" of the region/chapter at that point in time.
Spirit Session- A time when we sing our songs and cheer our cheers! Done after Friendship circle, AZAs and BBGs compete to be the loudest.
Parli Pro- Parliamentary Procedure (guidelines for carrying out business during meetings)
RAG- Regional Aleph Godol (the regional president)
Chairwomen- An international, regional, or chapter officer chosen through an application process. Chairwoman help board through planning events/conventions, making releases, etc.
Regional Board- A girls board and boys board elected by the whole region.  They oversee all chapters and help their chapter counterparts on board as well as plan regional programs and conventions and maintain the regional website!
Spooey- Pretzels dipped in icing, it is the International BBG food! 
Stand-Up- An International campaign to raise awareness and money for a cause. The campaign is focused around regions standing up for what they believe in.
BBYO Connect- BBYO for 6th through 8th graders.

PIT- parent in training

WOW Program- A program that made you say wow
Red Book- A small red book made JUST for BBGs that has tons of information about our order!
